Good Morning PACNORWEST CF Dudes!! I did some major work on my Jeep this weekend. I put the Rough Country X-Flex control arms on my Jeep. For a 6 inch lift the best adjustment was 17 inches on the LCAs and 16 inches on the UCAs to get the castor right. Adjusted the toe next. 61 inches track on the front and rear side of the front tires measured midway between top and bottom of tires. measured at rhe center seam on the tires. I also did a little tweak to center the steering wheel. Had to re-adjust the track bar, also. I had to remove the front skid plate as steering linkage was hitting it. I may do some grinding on it and put it back on. I haven;t decided yet. I am really loving these new control arms already and I haven't even gone wheeling and flexed it out. It just drives waaaay better. My steering self centers again, now and it tracks perfectly straight down the road, again. I can remove and install my swaybar links with out wrestling the D*** swaybar, now.
Now, on to the rear axle work. I replaced the rear drum brake shoes...upon inspection I found the self adjuster cable on the right rear was busted. Then just did some major clean up on the brake brake componants which were mud caked. Man, braking is so much better when you get the proper amount form all 4 wheels. I also removed the parking brake cables. The D*** thing never worked right after my lift, anyway...and I believe as tight as those cables were stretched, they had to be limiting flex. Not to mention the right side one looked like it was gonna rip my muffler off the next time I flexed it out real good. I also opened up the rear diff and moved a shim from right side to left side of the carrier to tighten it up a bit. I no longer have the huge clunk going from D to R and it doesn't roll 2 feet after putting it in P. I switched the rear diff oil from 90W to 140W. The instructions for the Aussie Locker said to do this. Amazing it runs a little more quiet, now. The last thing I did was install the 1.5 inch wheel spacers on the rear so I can run my new 33s on stock rims without rubbage. The 33 inch Mazzis Big Horns are due to arrive at my house this afternoon. Gonna get them mounted after work, today. I'm gonna be up at Walker Valley this next Saturday, 25 April. If any of you guys want to meet me there and go wheeling. Post it up on here and we'll figure out a meeting time and place.

Well, unfortunately I'm still waiting on putting my tires on. Fed. Ex. is a bunch of Communist B*****ds. So, I had to wait through the weekend and then they deliver 3 F*****g tires, today. I couldn't believe my eyes. Evidently the fourth one will be here tomorrow. As soon as I get them on I'll take it to my favorite flex test spot right around the corner from the house and take some pics. I'll get lots of pics this Saturday up at Walker, too. You guys should come up.
ya i have never had a good experience with fedex. take some pictures of the control arms too cuz i want a good close up look at them when they are sitting like normal and when they are flexed. i just started my new job so im working 7 days a week so i cant make any wheeling trips for a while now.

Ouch 7 days a week?! Well, that's good those MTRs and that axle won't pay for themselves. Can't even believe you scored that axle all built up like that.
ya im liking the hours and the money and i need it to pay for this front end. ya a guy gave it to my buddy to sell and since i know him he is giving me a good deal. i am picking up the new brakes and rotors tomorow for free from him

My tires have pits in all of the lugs. Some of the lugs look like they might just fall off soon. So I am gonna try and get my money back or new tires from them. I guess the walnut shell part of the ultra grip just wants to come out and leave holes everywhere. I will put up some pics later

Bobby, I know where you can get a set of 31x10.50x15 Dunlop mudders with about 75% tread left for pretty close to nothing. Are you interested? I'd offer you my old 32s but, you saw how much tread was left on them.....nothing.

Brian, I am going to wait and see what treadwright has to say about their product first. I am hoping for a refund cause the wear is pretty bad for 1000 miles. If not I will probably just run them for as long as it is safe. I only need em for about 10 more months you know.

I finally got the new tires put on so, here are a few flex pics and some close ups of the new X-Flex control arms that Brandon asked for. I really like how it flexes but, I can see I will be doing some trimming on the front wheel wells.

Gonna fix that cleanliness issue this coming Saturday up at Walker Valley. I think I'm gonna remove the inner fenderwell liner and do some minor trimming here and there. I really believe my flex is being limited only by the shocks, now. I'm still running shocks for a 4.5 inch lift. Well, I've been wanting to get Bilsteins, anyway. I guess that will be the next purchase.

I started looking into my options to fix my rubbing issues when stuffing my new 33s. I've removed the inner wheel well liners. and started trimming on the fenders. I'm gonna grind the body seem flat in the rear of both wheel wells. I'm also cutting the front of the fender off flush with the bottom of the marker light assembly. I'm gonna grind as much of the wheel well as possible without taking out the flare bolts. I also cut a couple of inches off the ends of each side of my front bumper. Then I'll take it over and stuff a tire on my favorite rock again and see where I'm at. If I can mimnimize the rubbing and be able to turn a little bit while flexed out, I'll be happy. Just don't want to extend the bumpstops unless I absolutely have to.
