I can't wait to get my jeep rebuild done and back out on the trails. It has been down for a year now and it is starting to get to me and I am getting the itch to get out on the trails again.
While we are on the subject about my jeep does anyone out there got a good deal on a none disco D30 with 3.55 gears out there?
Preffer one with 297 joints so from a 95 or newer XJ would be great.
To think this all started with the rod bearrings going out so it sat waiting for a motor now it is going to get a new front axle (found that I bent the housing
) a locked rear axle (I'm throwing a lock right locker in the D35 untill it snaps
) all new interior (it molded after sitting for a year) going to do bed liner in the back and then new black carpet up front and black head liner, still working on the seat problem. 33" tires, new wheels by by stockers, making new front and rear bumpers, light rack for five lights and who knows what more might happen to it before it comes out the garage.
So see with a list that has already happened like this one you all can see why I need a good deal on a front axle because the money is really starting to run low now and didn't find out I needed the front axle till after the money was spent on everything else.
Just thought I would share this with everyone.

Well good news I got the front axle I needed, found a parts rig for a good price. Once I get my motor I think it will only be about 2 months after that I should be back out on the roads and the trails.

Little bit of some updates here. Got the engine bay all cleaned and painted ready for the motor. Got the new front axle completely took apart and ready to be rebuilt, motor is here and going to start cleaning it up and going through it a little. got the new tinted windows put in and going to get ready to start putting in the new interior.
Here are some pics for any one that wants to see what it is looking like now and then bee able to see what it looks like when things are done.
This is what the interior looks like at this time.

Here she is with the motor removed.

Our 15 year old thought it would be fun to get in the engine bay

Her she is helping out with mounting the tires on the wheels.

Old size tires next to new size tires.

Here is the engine bay all cleaned and painted.

also here is a pick of what she looked like the first day we got her and then the after the first build up and another one of where she is right now. These ones aren't the best of pictures but the only ones I had of it when we first got it was with a cell phone.

So little more updates om the motor swap turned over haul. Diff guards are in somewhat progress but been put a side to build the rock sliders.
Waiting for a few parts still from the powder coating. Already got some of the brackets and the light bar back from powder coating.
Got the new hubs and will be taking the axle shafts in to have new joints put in them this week, then will start putting the front axle back together.
That's about it at this time don't have any pics at this time but will as soon as some things get done, got just about everything started and nothing finished at this time lol.

i though about painting mine when i pulled the old motor, but then decided against it cause it was just gonna be full of grease and dirt anyway. looks real good though, and your floor board are next to amazing the shape they are in!

Yeah I know the bay will only be nice looking for at most a month but wanted to at least start out clean when I pulled it out of the garage at the end of everything lol. For the floors the are in great shape there is only one spot that has a rust hole right where the muffler use to be. Now I have cut the pipe down and moved it right to the cat and put a elbow on it so it points out right in front of the back tire.

yea i think stub exhaust right after the muffler does best with the 4.0 motor. i have my cat, a 12"x2.5" pipe connecting them. then the muffler has a dump right before the axle.

Yeah I could have just done the motor swap and been back out there but the more I took things off and got to looking at things the more I wanted to change and fix. Kinda figured it has been down for this long might as well do a good job on things and bring it out a new rig and make it worth the time it has been down. Off the tope of my head this is the list as of now.
Motor swap
rebuilding front none disco D30 (Had a disco in it before)
lock right locker in rear axle
larger tires and newer wheels
building rock sliders
buiding diff guards front and rear
building new front and rear bumpers (Not sure if they will be done in time or not)
light bar on roof
OBA with 5 gallon tank
new carpet and headliner (Hoping for new seats as well)
bed liner in the rear
installed tinted windows
I'm sure I forgot some things but all this came from doing a motor swap lol. The old motor gave us over 300,000 miles and now looking in to doing a strocker on it.

Yes On Board Air and didn't get it anywhere they come with the rig with just a couple little changes. Turned the AC in to the pump and then just buy all the other things needed anywhere you can find them for a good deal. Air lines, breather, oiler, separator and then on off switch oh and a air tank if you want one and then there you have it OBA. A lot lower cost way of doing it then buying a set up.
