Default Camp Elbe XJ Takeover 2012 Packup List Questions and Comments.

I've heard and seen a lot of other talk about this subject on the other threads so I figured I'd start a thread about it.

Put questions on here like what fluids should I bring? What parts should I bring? Is anybody brining a jack and Jack Stands? Should I bring my own large jug of water? The answer to that one is YES!! because the campground has no water source. Anybody who is allergic to bee stings should bring there injectors or pills for that. Lots of pollen in the air. Asthmatics should bring inhalers. I've got a big duty bottle of Tylenol. Seems like every wheeling run somebody asks me if I have some. I will be brining several duty/dooty rolls...LOL. Whichever you prefer to call it, you get my drift....or risk using the John Wayne paper provided by the DNR in the outhouse. I'm just brain storming here. Some of you other guys throw in. I'm sure I'm missing a lot. Firewood has come up. I recommend at least bringing enough for the first night. I'm also brining my chainsaw.

Soap is always nice, or hand sanitizer. Those of us with little kids also know the multi-purpose benefits of baby wipes.

I will have a set of D30 axle shafts with hubs already on them. makes an axle change on the trail a 20-30 minute job. I will have one XJ front DS. I only carry a front because I have an SYE. It works for both ends of my Jeep. I also carry a full steering setup complete with XJ draglink and ZJ tierod. I never carry shafts for the rear D44. If I break one I can still get home. Non "C" clip is a beautiful thing...LOL!!

I also carry a full compliment of all fuses used in an XJ. The little ones and big ones...all amperages. I also carry extra relays, wire, splices, connectors, fuse tester, DMM, light bulbs and electrical tape.

Just bringing the basics for camping: Sleeping bag, air mattress, pillow, folding chairs, lantern, untencils, marsh mellow/hot dog sticks, Large jug of water and cooler w/ ice, food and drink. Don't forget to bring a Hoodie, Jacket or both. I'm sure it will get quite cold after dark and in the night.

OOOh...Never knew about the required permit for cutting wood. Never even knew you could get a permit for doing that on DNR land.
