Okay guys here it is and I really think this is the one to go on. I'm doing a Walker Valley run this coming Saturday, September 23, 2012. As it says in the title of this thread. This is my last chance to go wheeling for about a year. 1 October 2012 I head out to sea for a month long at sea period aboard the USS Harry S. Truman out of Norfolk, VA with The Zappers of VAQ-130 out the base here on Whidbey Island, WA. This starts what the Navy calls a Carrier Battlegroup Pre-Deployment Workup Cycle. I leave on a Deployment aboard this ship early next year for a 10 month Deployment. So, Buck won't be going wheeling again until around this time next year. So, come along with me to wheel Walker Valley this weekend. I've heard the DNR has had working parties up at Walker working on the by-pass trail to re-open The Upper Mainline. So there is a very good chance it will be open this next weekend though I don't know for sure. Maybe one of you guys can chime in with more information on that. I also looked at a Weather Forecast for the Big lake area....which is just below Walker. It Calls for a few sprinkles on Wednesday. Then RAIN LIKELY Thursday through Monday. So, we all know if there is a chance of rain in Western Washington it's gonna rain and those of you who have wheeled Walker before know that means BIG BIG FUN as the trails are waaaaaaaaaay better when wet!!! So if you want to come along post up on this thread.

Thanks Tim for helping me out with the correct date. This coming Saturday, definitely is 22 September 2012....LOL. Guess I'd better get my glasses looked at. We will do a 0800 meet for breakfast at the Dennys Restaurant on College Way in Mt, Vernon, WA. Those of you traveling on I-5, you get off at Exit 127 for College Way. Dennys is on the east side of the freeway right where the northbound off ramp meets College Way look to your right. If you are traveling southbound on I-5, turn left where the off ramp meets College Way and go under the freeway. Dennys will be on your right. We will have a grip and grin and meet any new guys and have some chow. There is also a Walmart Shopping Center at this same exit that anybody who spaced it can get their Discovery Pass. Pay the $5.00 for your 1 day Discovery Pass and avoid the $200.00 ticket.

Tim, if you can make it. My Shotgun seat will be open. If you do, I suggest springing for a room in Mt. Vernon. That would be a long haul for you to drive both ways from Yakima plus wheeling all day.

Yep I realized I got caught giving you guys incorrect directions. I just had to go down to Lakewwod today to our Northrop Grumman office down there to have the geek squad fix my work laptop. The exit off of I-5 you take to go there is "127" which is the same place 512 meets 5. that was when I realized I should have told everybody "227" for College Way in Mt. Vernon. Thanks for catching that and clearing it up, Wade.

Holy Crap, Zack!!! You must have been flogging the old Wrongler. They are pretty darn tuff!! Funny story, Alex and I met with Timmy and the Jeep Unit over in Rimrock for a weekend of wheeling about a month ago and a guy in a Wrongler they knew was there wheeling with us. Both of his front shackle mounts cracked just like yours did. That must be a week spot.

Well, guys...I just looked at an updated weather forecast for Big Lake. It is supposed to be 67 degrees for a high and 10% chance of rain on Saturday. Friday is 69 degrees and a 0% chance of rain. So, it's still gonna be dry but there must be some tuff stuff up there somewhere. Zacks Wrangler is setup pretty darn nice. Whatever broke his Jeep isn't no Sunday drive down a forest service road...LOL. I'm gonna try to get ahold of the Walker Valley DNR rep. I know and see if the Upper Mainline bypass is indeed done and the trail is open or not. The plan still is meet 0800 at Dennys for breakfast and 0900 in The Pit to air down and lock in.
