well, around where i am, spokane, wa. theres only one place i have dealt with and i would trust and thats Hazzard Fabworx. They can do ANYTHING. They some amazing work and whether its something simple or something completely custom they can hook you up and get it taken care of. http://www.facebook.com/hazzard.fabworx?fref=ts this is their facebook page. I know friends that have gotten stuff done through them and they are awesome people to deal with and always do an excellent job.

I say do it yourself. Its not hard and it allows you to know your rig that much better. I know every square inch of my rig and that helps me to know when something is wrong

Lift installs are actually pretty easy. Especially on the Xj. I did mine in a few hours, but had access to a lift. It can be done without a lift, it will just takke a little longer. I replaced my rear axle in about 2 hours without a lift. If you have the time and tools do it yourself

It is a free country so you can pay some guy at a shop 3 times more than you should have to, to install a lift on your Jeep for you. However, that lift and anything else that will break on your Jeep will most likely not break when you are tooling down the boulevard in down town Seattle near the local auto repair shop. It's going to break when you are 90 miles from nowhere, way up in the mountains on a trail, A*S deep in mud or snow. I recommend you do as I did. Start with a Bone Stock XJ. Get to know your Jeep as you drive it and build it. Do every single modification to it yourself. That way as you do upgrades you will buy/acquire the tools, hardware and manuals needed to install said modifcations as you do them. When your Jeep does break, and it will, that's just Jeep 101. Not because Jeeps are crap, just straight up because most people who own Jeeps drive them offroad and beat the tar out of them in the name of having fun with them. The cool thing about most Jeeps is that when they do break IF you fix it yourself, it is usually dirt cheap to fix.

This is GOOD advice! I don't plan on wheeliing mine but just general maintenance, upgrades, JY upgrades - anything really - is fairly easy to do. Help on the forum will make the rest of your work on the jeep MUCH easier. Do it yourself.

If I was you, I'd take that $1300 and buy a lift better than RC. Install it yourself(I'm sure you could get someone from here to help), take the left over money($500-$600 easily)and buy yourself a present for saving money.

I have a 4.5in RC add-a-leaf kit and I wish I had boughten better. Already switched the control arms. Springs were to far gone to begin with so the aal didn't last so the back end sags. The shocks suck at speed.
