Have you been to Browns Camp in the Tillamook state forest? Also a few places up at Hood.

Ive always went to goat mountain or hillock burn, basically the same just different sides. Have you ever been on the hillock burn side? Also wheres butte creek trails at? I have hiked to butte creek falls but I never noticed any trails over there?

Tillamook/ browns camp is just to far for me to go spur of the moment like I seem to do all the time. Those are about the best trail we have around here though.

The only thing about them is they are closed areas and not legal to wheel. La dee flats is a legal area out in estacada, browns camp, and the couple new trail in jones creek in Washington east of Vancouver. Anywhere else your risking a ticket, getting your rig impounded, or even the further closure of place to the public. Im in Clackamas not far from Oregon city its about an hour drive to anywhere to wheel thats legal.

Hillock/Goat is not illegal unless your out there blazing your own trails into the forest. As long as you have an atv permit on your rig your fine. There is a cop that drives around up there in a ford explorer and he checks people for atv permits, hes never said anything to my group about it being illegal if you stay on the pre made trails. There is times they close it for logging or fire danger, or like last years Estacada fire it was closed for a few months. On goat mountain there are even a few trails named and maintained by a jeep club.

No goat mountain, the one with the trails, is south west of la dee flats. Goat mountain is the national forest section off the end of green mountain road. In the goat mountain area you will find clear lake and 5 Way "Park" for lack of better term. Hillock Burn area is directly across the river from La Dee Flats, there isn't very many trails over there but is a nice place to get out in the woods and drive through giant puddles. Those areas are legal because all the trails are just old logging access roads that are washed out and full of ruts, then after continous offroad use they basically transformed into trails.

Yes if you go off the roads on goat that is definitely not legal. The "trails" that im talking about are public roads marked by forest service numbers they're just so torn up by wheelers that they are basically offroad trails. Its the same as driving your cheetah print Honda civic to Walmart to buy performance parts, just cooler. There are a few public forest service roads or "trails" that have wooden signs in front of them that have a trail name and some jeep clubs signature. I can only think of two off the top of my head and that's The Ledge, and Axle Breaker.
