I don't have a sway bar up front but still have one in back. I rub on the back of the front inner fenders.

My lift will be here on Tuesday so in the mean time we have been doing fab work on the custom bumpers. I have my hack n tap from Iron Rock arriving end of next week too. Another question, if I put all this in and don't get my tires and wheels for about a week will that be okay? I currently have 30x950's on there right now. Might look dumb but I don't care about that for a couple weeks.

I'm getting pretty excited about this. I have all these damn kids that take up so much money! I've been saving money to do this for almost 2 years while replacing all the mechanical parts of this amazing like new 205,000 mile sexy beast! Every joint, seal, breaks, sensors, plug, wire, and fluid has been upgraded or replaced with the exception of the head gasket and front crank shaft seal! She and I are both ready! I am going to start my own thread to detail the build with pics too!

You will be fine running the stock tires and wheels with the lift and all installed. You are right, it will just look dumb. That's allright though, so you can still drive it until you get your new rubber.

With the bigger rubber you will be slipping the clutch a bit to get her moving. The mismatch in tire size and gear ratio is much easier to live with when you have an auto tranny. Just do like Eric said. Don't be in a big hurry to get your Jeep moving and keep the slippage to a minimum and you will be fine til you can affard to swap your gears.

It's an auto

Hmmm...if your Jeep really is a 98 and really does have an Auto tranny and 3.07 gears then somebody either swapped the axles, the axle gears or the tranny. I'm pretty sure all 98 XJs with factory auto trannys came with 3.55 axle gears.

I'm not sure where you got the gear information because I didn't put that up here. I don't know what is in there so I assume it's stock. I defer to your knowledge on what is likely in my diffs. I do know however, that I will be upgrading them next year.

I am going to upgrade the gears for sure but it's not in the immediate budget so any advise or help would be appreciated. Thanks,
Depends what your stock gearing is. If it's 3.55, you should be OK...

You can ask Chrysler for your build sheet on their support site. All they need is the VIN. They are really good about it.

AH... that's cool. Probably good to have that period. Thanks guys. I seriously deliberated between 6.5 and 4.5 in lift forever and now I'm doing the same thing on tires. I guess I'll only really figure out what's best for my application by making a decision and going for it! Hence the reason my 6.5 kit will be here next Tuesday! lol

If you go with 12.5 and want spacers I've got some from my Jeep I'd be willing to sell cheap.
This guy's post is what got me thinking you had 3.07 gears. Sorry about the mistake but, since you do have an Auto tranny, that means you do also have 3.55 gears. You will be just fine running with the bigger tires until you can afford to do your gears.

No worries! Sounds good to me!
