Thanks NorCal. Yes, I need to spend more time on this but ran out.
Using Photoshop an avatar of 200 x 149 and under the Mb limit was created, but resulted in an upload error from the server. No mention of the reason.
2nd attempt of 199 x 145 and slight smaller had the same result.
Will try again tonight.

Test 4
And using a .jpeg file
This photo is was emailed to me from an acquaintences cell. Let's see it works.
Previous photos loaded successfully into my User CP but I don't see them when I post here. That photo was taken with an iPhone and loaded to my desktop PC. Attempted PShop downsized jpeg then the original photo (3.5mb)- both loaded to my profile, but not showing here. I also attempted to use the same pic uploaded directed from the iPhone, but still don't see the avatar.
Submitting
Edit to add: Gotta be something simple on my end. My "garage is empty, add now" isn't true either. My profile shows a '98 Limited w/stock specs

I still don't your AVATAR IMAGE. It might be a corrupt image.
But I do see your profile pic has changed. Profile pic vs avatar image is different.

Thanks NorCal. Profile pic vs Avatar was my error. I didn't take the time to view all the User CP options.

More to the story discovered while updating photos from my PC. My admin permissions are so tight they don't allow transmission to the forum. WIN 7 & Norton may be overlapping here. Right clicking on the file and "share" brings up the menu but won't unlock the photo/file.
Am transferring pics to an iPad album anyway while I figure out the PC permissions and will upload to my CF album from there.
