You know the beep/chime/tone when you leave the lights on?

Yea, so the other day I was working on replacing the rear hatch plastic cover with one I picked up from "u pull a part". While I was installing, the chime/beep/tone comes on indicating I left the keys in the ignition, or left the lights on.
THe keys were inside on the kitchen table....
Is there something in the rear hatch that has anything to do with that?
Is this an indication that the ignition switch is going bad?
None of the doors were open.
Any ideas?

Negative. I had it open to install the cover, but when I closed up and put my tools away, the thing started going off. Had to disconnect the battery to shut it off.
If I insert the key and turn the ignition ON, then turn the key off and remove it the chime will silence for a little while. However, like 20 minutes later or so the chime comes back on.
It's weird.

Fixed it by process of elimination.
Unplugged every door's switch, including the rear hatch connectors.
Plugged them in one by one until the chime came on.
Ended up being a bad solder on the passenger side door lock connector.
I took the door apart, cleaned up the solders, and just put it back together. So far it's good.
