Default XJ Wheels?

For my beloved, totally stock 1998 Jeep Cherokee XJ Sport, I'm looking to get a set of dedicated wheels and snow tires for this coming winter. I'm looking at the Quadratec site and they recommend a 15x8, with a 4.5" bolt pattern with backspacing of 4.0. The rep said I could also consider a 15x7 as these wheels will be for snow tires and a narrower contact patch would give better traction.

Any suggestions on this? Thanks for any input.

Yes, the tires will be 235x75 15. So, would the 7" width be better?

15x7 is the stock wheel size, and that works perfectly fine with 235/75-15 tires.

That's what I had on mine when I lived where it snowed a lot in the winters and never had an issue.
