Default XJ Sputtering on start up

Hello all,

This has just started a week ago. On start up or when the motor is cold, the car is runs a bit rough. This morning it almost stalled when I took off at a light. But once I got going she was popping and sputtering down the street. Once its warm, it drives better, but I do feel it hesitate if I step on the pedal. The TPS is about a couple years old. I just Changed the CPS about 2 months ago. I had the fuel pressure checked about 2 months ago and was fine. All the plugs were sparking blue too. If dirt gets in the the Dist. Cap could that be a factor? I do play in the dirt in Lucerne Valley quite a bit. I prime the fuel rail on start up every time, so I can hear the fuel pump do its thing. Any ideas? She's a 6 cyl HO, 2WD, 5 spd.

Just a thought....check your fuel lines. I had a very small leak in the return line and it was causing a similar problem

Yeah, checked the fuel lines. No leaks. I'm thinking TPS may be going out. I'll also make sure the fuses all have good contact. They may be dirty from playing in the dirt. One thing I did notice, is that the car also idles a bit higher than it did before. I did smell some gas while driving yesterday, but can't pin point or see any leaks...

I have heard that injectors can be an issue with rough idle at start.
