Default XJ in South America help identyfying these things

Hey everyone,

I'm American but live in South America and have and bought an XJ here. Most of the parts I bring from home. I'm new at this and this has been a continuous project. I have a question if someone can please help me identify these things please. The first is that three days ago I started leaking water with no overheating. I looked deeper, and I noticed that one of the radiator hoses had been cut off (it functions perfectly), my question is how is this possible without affecting the temperature? The second question is about this piece, I'm not sure how to look for it or the name. You can see in the picture one has an L and the other is open that is the piece I am looking for. Thank you !

The top image looks like an Air Conditioning Compressor
The image on the bottom shows a heater hose connection blocked off

First image is the ac compressor. Its missing a dust cap on the high pressure port. H= high and L= low. It will be fine without that cap but i would still find a cap, or cover it up with whatever i had on hand that worked.

Second image is, like said, a heater hose connection. Looks ok. But the radiator hose next to it needs help. The end of the hose should butt against that ridge on the neck. There are stains along the backside, so that has been leaking at some point. Recently, by the looks of it. Suspect #1.
