Default XJ RPM varaitions plus CEL light.

Hi guys. I have a 2000 XJ. I had it sent in to install new cat converter. And New exhaust manifold. I noticed when I picked it up hit the gas and the CEL light came on immediatley plus the rpms are varying most noticably at idle. It was not like that prior. Im assuming there is still a exhaust leak does anyone know what could cause this.

Tks.

I have not gotten a computer on it yet. Im sure that will be helpful. I will pull the code over weekend. I do know the 2 times i have brought it to the shop. they put manifold on and new cat converter with all new 02 sensors. I drove a few seconds cel came on exhaust manifild was leaking. I brought it back. they pulled everything reinstalled. same today drove away cel came back on immediatley and now rpms varying. They clearly are not test driving it. I know its related to there work was hoping to have a better idea where exactly

Sounds like a vacuum leak to me. If they took off the intake manifold, they probably didn't get everything seated on the alignment dowels correctly and it's the intake leaking. Or they missed reconnecting a vacuum line. Complain and make them fix it.
