Jeep 1999 XJ
I did my research because I have no back up lights and codes po700 po705. Found several threads about removing/cleaning/reinstalling the NSS so did it today but still have the codes and no back up lights.
The vehicle starts and runs fine in P&N only, but inspection is overdue.

Found this diagram, but not being an electrician and only an amateur mechanic, I was confused when I opened the plug and found only seven contacts.




I have continuity somewhere in every gear so suspect the NSS is ok and my problems are somewhere else? If so where to look?? I need help as this is my every day vehicle and I repeat, inspection is overdue.

Ok, I checked voltage at the bulbs. I'm only getting 4.0 volts on the driver side back up light and .4 volts at the passenger side bulbs (12.6v on the top bulb which works). Now I suspect I need to clean up my grounds. Does anyone know where they all are?
