Is the XJ Dana 44 the only axle shaft mount on axle housing?
I'm wondering if Dana 44 rears were the only rear axles that came in Cherokees where the axle shaft is held in by the axle tube flange (no C clips). I know 8.25 had c clips to hold in there axles but were all Dana 35 rear axles c clipped? Am I forgetting a rear axle that came in the Cherokees?

Dana 35
is there another I'm forgetting about?

Ok interesting did Dana 35 come with 10 inch brakes (finned drum)as a option or was that Dana 44 only? The only reason I ask is I'm looking at a jeep in a yard and it has no tires on it and I'm unable to see the diff cover because of crap under the truck. I know it has 10 inch brakes (finnned drum) just seeing what it might be before I have it pulled.

Thanks man for the picture, yeah I already have a Dana 44 for my truck sitting in my garage, Im getting one for my sisters boyfriend (who has a awesome Cherokee). I just wanted to get some external ideas because I can't see the diff cover because of crap under the truck and it sitting on its belly with out tires. Ill just get a jack and try and get it higher up to see.
