Hey guys! I've been reading a ton about the DRL function on the XJ Cherokees. I've heard that the ones in the US don't have the DRLs, but I'm curious to see if I have any wiring to tap into on mine. I bought these LED headlights off of amazon that have a DRL function in them. They have a separate wire coming out of the headlights for the DRLs that needs to plug into a wire from the Jeep. I have a 2001 XJ that is in the USA. I am wondering if there is a daytime running lamp module or any wiring that is a DRL. What's weird is that with the headlight switch to off there is a very low light coming out of the headlights, very dim but it's there. There is no other problem other than that so I'm assuming that those are the DRLs? If so, what wiring is that? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are 3 wires in the headlight connector. There is a purple/maroon one, a red one, and the black ground one. We were testing the wires on with the ignition on one of them supplies half voltage. I'm assuming this is the high beam wire because DRLs run on 50% high beam. So, my question is: can I just pull the high beam wire, split it to run into the DRL plug in and the headlight connector plug in? Would that work?
