XJ Cherokee ARB Bull Bar and 20/20 Lights
Yesterday I got my new ARB Bumper installed as well as my Hella Optilux 20/20 Lights... 6 of them to be exact. That put me with 12 55w bulbs across the safari rack.
Here are a few pictures and tips.
1- have at-least 2 or more friends to help install the bumper. You can do it alone but, it goes so much better with help.
2- I had to mount my control box for the M8000 at an angle to get it to fit. Mounting it the way as instructed didn't work. It pushed against the grill. This way it will also avoid having standing water on it.
3-The front of the vehicle did drop a little. But it was barley noticeable
4- For the lights its hard to find a spot for switches in an XJ. I went with the center console. Lots of room to hide wires, and I already had a monster cable running through there for power.
5- Test the lights before final install. Seems obvious but we were running out of daylight and just installed everything. The fog lights don't work on 2 of them and the driving lights don't work on 2 of them.

No major changes. Get the CB installed, and find some waterproof storage box for the roof. Want something low profile 6 inches tall or less, but wide enough to fit the width of the rack. A locker for the rear someday, but no time soon.

Its good to have a guide wire.. like an old antenna you can push through and have your wires tapped to the other end. Antennas work great because they have the ball on the end and it wont snag on things.

I like to have some basic supplies with me all the time. Straps, clevis', come-alongs, and all the extras. If I had a box up top, i could always have them there and not every worry about having the right supplies. Also with the right box it will look good and not pieced together.

For now yes.. next month Ill get a new air intake and open up the air box area for a dual battery set up. As long as your rig is running it would be fine to winch or run lights. If winching though I would turn off the auxiliary lights just to save the power.

something you could do is fab one up out of some plate, i did the similar thing when i was in iraq and needed a bii box for my 915, except all i had to use was wood, to water proof it i took some fuel line and screwed that down over the edges, you could glue it on to the metal if you wanted to make one that way it would be exactly what you wanted
