xj 84 2.5 carburetor

Exclamation xj 84 2.5 carburetor

i have a cherokee xj 2.5 STD and the carb is giving me troubles .. i want to buy a new one but i don't know what kind of carb it is it. and i don't know what patent makes goods carburetors..
i need some of help with this ...
i can't go to the rocks or mud .couse if i accelerate to much it turns off faster...

you have a Carter C-1 YFA (1bbl - 32/36mm DGEV) carb stock

Weber makes some great carbs and they have a retrofit kit for the AMC 2.5L (the 2bbl carb supposedly adds significant gains to the engine), but the carter YF carbs are pretty good to begin with.

Are you sure it doesn't just need to be adjusted? I would recommend taking to an older mechanic that knows how to properly adjust and clean a carb. I'm betting it's just out of adjustment - carbs don't usually go "bad".
