Default Wow....

I dunno if this belongs here or in offtopic but had to post this..If it is in the wrong area I apologize..On another site someone posted an issue with temp gauge not working and here's the pics of how his temp sensor and temp sender are setup on a 91XJ...

Sendor port on head sealed shut..

The hack/modified job..
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/e...8/DSC00633.jpg

Modified thermostat housing to hold both the sender and sensor..No way the probes are even touching any coolant..I feel for this guy cause this is gonna be costly to fix IMHO...You will notice in the last pic someone put a T elbow into the thermostat housing where the sensor goes and then put the sender on the T and the sensor on the top end..Then spliced the sender plug to lengthen it...Not gonna work unless I am missing something...

When you figure that coolant is under pressure it will work.. Coolant doesn't just loosely flow there is pressure holding it to the side and such, so any thing that is in a place coolant can go it will..

hadn't thought about it in that fashion..I just can't see how that would remotely work properly I guess..I would have done it different myself...
