Default is it worth the time?

i have my 98 xj that ive been workin on but its wrecked, close to 3000 to fix so its not even worth it, but everything is good besides body, i found a 98 xj but is 2wd and has a 2.5L 5 spd. would it be worth it to buy the 2wd and swap motor tranny 4wd etc...out of wrecked one into good one?i would have the space and time to do it, and would do everything myself with some help from a few others.

It really depends on how much you like your Jeep. Also depends on how much you can get the parts Jeep for and the present mileage on your Cherokee.

i have heard that swapping a 4cyl out for the 6cyl is a huge pita to do and that if he did it again then he would go find a cherokee with a 6 already in it.
that came from a guy who had just swapped out his axles for tons (dana 60s) under his cj

well i really really like my jeep.i dont do any extreme hardcore wheelin, and when i do wheel i do just fine so if it wasnt for it bein wrecked my jeep would be perfect for what i do with it,and its got 155,000 on it, but it will keep goin for a while, and the other jeep is 1200 with no rust no mud no nothing, has been in garage for months

see i probanly will agree if i end up doing it, but this jeep that i would be swapping 6 into is a red 2 door, if it wasnt a 2 door 98 i probably would just stick with my current one but im a huge fan of 2 doors
