It won't stay running
I have a 95 Cherokee Limited with the 4.0 liter engine.
I was having some security issues, and had asked for ideas on fixing it.
Well I got that hopefully figured out, but now the darn thing wont keep running.
It will start right up, and will shut down. I've done it dozens of times, and still won't keep running.
I've done a spark test, and I have fire until the engine quits spinning, so I don't think I have an electrical issue there.
I checked the Schrader valve on the fuel rail, and there was little gas that squirted out, so I checked the fuel pressure, and when it cranks, it has 41 lbs of fuel pressure.
It was suggested to me that the fuel regulator may be the culprit, but it will start right up, but die.
I was thinking either the crank or camshaft sensors, but their failure symptoms don't suggest that either.
Could it be as simple as a fuel filter? I wouldn't think I'd get fuel pressure if it was dirty or plugged.
Anyone out there had the same problem, and found a cure?
Please let me know. I'd appreciate it greatly!
