wont start, no crank but there is noise

95 cherokee, 220,000km, 4.0. tried to start it today and there is no errr errr errr sound, theres just a straight sound like a loud fan. what could be the problem? Thanks for help.

Time to replace the starter or take the starter off and have it fixed.
Sounds like the bendix (drive) is bad.
