I need help! Jeep won't start. Has power when I turn the key but that's it. It's been giving me problems so normally I just disconnect the battery and rest the ignition. But now that doesn't work either. I don't know if it's the ignition or the starter. It doesn't click or make any noise when you turn the key. But I do have full power. Help if you can thanks

if it doesnt click then its electrically challenged. Check your fuses, relays, all conection and so forth. if your starter was bad you could atleast normally here it trying to turn over or (click)
Does the engine turn over, or does you jeep just sit their playing your radio with nothing going on under the hood?
If its not turning over, it could be the starter solenoid. If its turning over fine, but not starting, it might be the CPS (crankshaft position sensor). I know that is a common problem with cherokees.
Other then that, Ill leave it to the more expeirenced folks here.
Good luck.

Check and see if you have power and ground at the auto shutdown relay and the starter relay. With a test light you can see if the starter relay is getting signal from the ignition switch when you turn the key
I have a 2001 XJ,auto,4.0. It won't start.
I squirted starting fluid in the intake and it sounded like it was trying to run.
I put a gauge on the injector rail and it showed about 32 psi.
It's hard to check for spark with the LONG coil covering the plugs.
It wouldn't start today after running for about an hours worth of driving.
I tried to run a code at Auto Zone with no readings, after setting for about a half
hour it restarted. I drove home then drove it again later and it quit and won't start.
I used Auto Zones code reader, how do you use the reader in the Jeep ?
Any ideas on why it won't start ??

I should have replied sooner, as someone suggested it was the CPS.
Crankshaft position sensor. It's not very accessible and $85.
Thanks for the suggestions, sorry I didn't mention it sooner.
