alrighty update. I had installed a new fuel pressure regulator before installing the new TPS and turns out that was the reason for the complete lack of idle. the new FPR came with the wrong spring, too short and too soft.

Just took everything back apart and re-installed the old spring. idles like it did before the new fpr was installed(still lopey). still has a strong exhaust smell, still sputters/boggs at higher RPMs.(so the fpr didnt help any)

next going to adjust this TPS.

 

they are quite touchy

 

yup that did nothing. set to the correct .830 difference and still idles like crap and boggs on acceleration. even tried different settings of the TPS and less advanced is actually better.

think she's for sale.

Don't give up on her. But if you really have too, I'll take care of her. From your avatar it looks like here ugly twin sister is in my driveway.

 

you want her? throw a fair offer and come pick her up!

 

tested the CPS. got 197ohms, which is within spec, and .2VAC, which is not.
guess that will be the next repair.
