wiring nightmare or maybe easy fix or just take it to a shop?????
hey guy i need some advice i just put in a new aftermarket stereo in my xj to replace the one that got stolen.... now i had no problems with the old one but i dunno whats going but in the past 2 days i have no blower for heat/air no panel lights to show me how fast im going at night and as of yesterday the stereo would shut off when i turned the head lights on or even if i just touched the brake pedal WTF????? ive checked every fuse i could see or find and their all fine... i found a ground which looked to be fine but i dunno a fried of mine told me that its a real common problem and that it ca cause eletrical fires and i kinda dont have the funds to take into a shop at this moment any help or advice would be a huge plus

run your ground wire outside the vehicle to the battery and see if the problems persist....other possibility is the old unit was a common ground and the new has discrete grounds to each speaker...or visa versa...
