Wireing harness
Ok so my 89 Xj has a HO motor in it, I herd that one way you can tell a HO from a Renix is the way the oil filter sits. Mine sits Horizontal above the starter, But i was just wondering because my wireing harness is a mess and i wanna get one out of the JY, what harness should i pick up? one from a renix? or an HO, are they different? And am i gona run into any wireing issues since its not the original engin? All input is greatly appreciated... thank you.

The oil filter is the same on all as far as I have seen. They changed to the 7120(I belive) in 91 and thats when the HO came out. I wanna say it was the newer head that made it a HO. Someone chime in if im wrong. I would look for another renix harness. Do you know if your motor has been swapped ever? Well there in kinda one way to tell what you have. How many bolts hold down your TB?

Wow sorry I just reread that. lol I have a 88 motor in my 91 and I have to use my 91 harness due to the computer. Now if your computer and harness has been swapped with the newer motor you have to get a newer harness. Check your computer and see if you can see a date on it.

Its not hard to throw in a HO motor. Is there any way to ask him if he just used the long block? Thats the easist way. ON mine I just stripped it down and put the 88 long block in and used all my 91 wireing.
