1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport My windshield is cracked. I searched carpart.com for a used replacement, and found numerous ones from various years. There are some that would not mean driving a long distance to get it, but they're not 1999. So, how do I determine if windshields from other years will work in a 1999? Thanks.

 

IIRC all xj wind shields are interchangeable 84-2001

 

I'll go with that. I've done both my 84 and my 90. Install is pretty easy. Removing one whole...I can't do it.

 

What's your budget? I got mines replaced with a new one from a local auto glass company. Wasn't more than a couple hundred if I remember correctly.

 

Got mine replaced for 120 new and installed. 99 as well.

 

yup windshield is no place to cheap out, just cuz it isnt cracked it can be sandblasted

 

My new one replaced was $114 tax included. Way too cheap to mess with a used one and have to do the labor yourself considering that it could be broken during install.

 

Yeah I also had mine done by a glass shop for around $120. It will save you a lot of headaches to have it done. Plus if you have any leaks the will have to remove it and reseal it on there dime , If you install it you have to do all the work all over.

 

Safelite is 188 installed. IIRC I paid about 120 in 2012 to have mine done.

 

Side windows and rear glass, Yeah i'll get it at the junkyard and DIY. the flat glass is simple. But that front one, is more difficult and tends to leak, if not put in perfectly. If there are installation issues I want a warranty for that.
