Default Windshield washers not working

My windshield washers are not working front or rear. I know the washer pump/motor is at the bottom of the reservoir. Going to check it to make sure it's bad instead of just replacing it. My question is this, does the rear washer run off of the same one as the front? Or is there a different one I don't know about for the back?

I believe it is two separate motors. I would start with checking the fuses.

I am assuming we are talking about the 2000 XJ mentioned in your "garage" link. There are 2 windshield washer motors stacked vertically at the end of the reservoir, the lower of the two is for the front windshield washers, the higher one is for the rear windshield washer. I just replaced my motors but it appears I also have a clog in the lines or in the front and rear washer nozzles on my 2000. If you haven't pulled the motors yet, you will want a long funnel with a diagonal offset "mouth" if you wish to retain the fluid that is in the reservoir. Also unplug the electrical connectors to the pumps and check voltage to the pump before pulling them, (the upper one will be more difficult) if you have 12V going to the pumps your wiring and fuses are ok.

I think the plug connectors at the motors get a lot of corrosion also.
