My (new to me) 1999 has a front wiper problem. The low and high speed and washer part all works, but the intermittent and "park" functions do not work. I replaced the switch on the steering column (having beed advised that on the 1999 model the "control module" was within the switch). The new switch did not change anything.
The On-Line Serive Manual says to check the "circuit breaker in the junction block" but not sure which one that is (#30?) but assume it's OK since the low and high speed wipers work; I doubt it's the circuit breaker.
My last recourse - buy a new wiper motor assembly with pivots for $220. Are there other suggestions?
I posted this problem somewhere else but can't find it so I apologize for this duplicate post in advance. Me and computers......
Thanks
Nick

Im wonderint the same thing i have the same issue on my 89' wounder if the module under the dash would be the culprit?

@nsgreear: Take a look at the connector @ the wiper motor, make sure it's clean, dry and in good condition. Chances are the wiper motor is damaged, that's where the "park" function happens. You've already replaced the switch/module...that's about all that's left.

I believe you can remove that module and plug the connectors together to see if the wipers work normally and park. You won't have delay though. Originally Posted by Slim357

While the module's out, open it up and look. I bet you find a burned power trace on the PC board. You can repair that if you are handy with a soldering iron...just add a jumper over the burned spot and touch up the other solder joints as necessary.
It was the motor itself. The "park" function is in the motor; the intermittent logic is in the switch but obviously the motor has to be able to "park" for the intermittent to work.
I bought a motor at CarQuest for $78. It was a Valeo, same as the OEM part. A bit of a trick getting the motor and pivot arms in and out of the plenum (cavity) behind the hood.

Get a wiring diagram, post it here and I'll tell you what to do. I'll check mine later, have to go to work, it is 10.15Originally Posted by nsgreear
