Default Window Trim?

Can anyone help me identify where to find a way replace the window trip on the outside of the front passenger door? If look up window trim all I can find is the rubber on the inside of the window. I have tried bending it back in place but it will not stay since a piece is broken off. Any help would be great, thanks!

Edit - I missed the part where your rear molding is already broken. So I’d hit the junkyard for both pieces.

I’d try to pull out the rear molding, pop the top molding back in, then push the rear molding back into place and see if everything stays put in that top corner. Maybe put a little crimp in the top piece to help it grab. Just a pinch, don’t crush it.

I can’t tell from the pictures, but if that loose piece is too bent up, I’ve picked up several pieces at the local junkyards for $3 or $5 apiece. The trick is to get it off without putting a kink into it.

This order usually works for me when removing the exterior window moldings: bottom, rear, top. Installing is the reverse.

The trim is easy to remove, as long as you dont go gorilla with it. They do kink easily. The hard part is usually finding replacements that havent been kinked already from others trying to pull them, or peeling. Peeling isnt much of an issue tho. Strip, scuff, and grab the plasti-dip. Kinks can be fixed if its not too bad and youre a patient sort. Love taps only, from the backside. I pulled a full set for my 97 at the yards last year, and out of maybe 10-12 XJ, i found 2 with good trim pieces (no kinks or peeling). I found it easiest to remove the top and bottom first, then the sides, as they overlap in the corners. I used a plastic door panel trim tool under the edges and a couple love taps with a rubber mallet which worked great. Sometimes you can work the trim off just using your hands. I was with my mom once during another visit and we were a couple rows apart. Rather than find me she improvised and used her t-shirt and a busted side view mirror housing. Trim piece came off perfectly. Awesome! Sometimes you have to improvise.

Thanks, I'll hit the junkyard!
