Default Window torx screw on my XJ 92

I’m replacing all of my windows on my Xj some kids busted them out. I started on the drivers side of course! And when I removed the panel and lifted the plastic cover there was one (1) torx screw on the track that raised the window up and down not two bolts. I tried manually removing the torx screw with a I believe t30 bit with no luck then I took out my drill and still no luck the screw just spins and spins I can see a thread behind the white plastic that the window was in but it’s just spinning... no idea what to do! Help me

sorry for posting in another spot. I just need help ASAP I live in WASHINGTON and it rains 9 months out of 12.

I am trying to remember what it exactly looks like. I replaced the glass in both my rear doors on my '00.
Thinking if you could just hold the outer plastic ring behind the glass you should be able to stop it from spinning.
Maybe the metal one inside the plastic one.
Did you try holding that big tab on the torx side of the glass.
Just can't remember if there is enough room to get in there.
I replaced a window regulator on my driver's door too.
Don't remember having any major problems with any of them.
Here is a shot of some rear door window glass off ebay.
Hopefully the visual will let you see better what you are dealing with.

Hey once I get home from work I’ll take a picture and attach it here. I tried holding the plastic piece on both sides with my hand and so on. I think since it’s so old it’s most likely adhered together 😂 I’ll try to pry it apart some how or something. But the rain came back around so now I need to do it ASAP. Thanks for your reply.

Maybe it is the metal then that you need to hold in place on one or both sides.
I will try to get into my extra glass, from when I swapped out to Factory Privacy Glass in my '00,
but it is boxed up all nice nice and is behind a lot of Jeep parts that would have to be moved. LOL.

Probably better off dremeling the bolt off and replacing it with a hex head. This happened to me when removing my door

Judging by your profile pretty much as far away from you as one can be and still be in the lower 48. LOL

Sorry for asking it like this, don’t know how else to ask but do you mean drilling instead of (dremeling)?

drilling would be ideal, but in the case of my door. The angle the door creates with the dash made it imppimposs to drill it properly so I dremeled the head of my bolt.

no worries man. I’m trying to prep my Jeep to take out to the mountains and hunt with compound bow. Lots to do and so little time.

yes! There is almost enough room for one hand to get in so I’m gonna try to drill it out hopefully won’t have this stupid issue with the other windows.

Can you attach a picture of the tool you used?

Thanks
