i just bought an 04 Grand Cherokee. The only rust is under the bottom window seals and they are puffing out bad. Is this a common problem? and what would be the cheapest way to fix it? thanks

As long as they are still tight on the glass I wouldn't worry about them. I have been in the glass business for over 25yrs and I see it quite often. Most manuf. have gone away from those type channels for that reason I assume. If the rust is bad enough that they won't hold on the glass anymore the easiest way is to buy replacments. I'm sure one can fabricate the channel and weld it back to the roller track but that almost seems like more trouble than its worth. (unless you are in a situation where a replacement isnt available) The channels are held on the glass with a packing material that you just drive on with a hammer or mallet. If you are doing it yourself and local glass shop would have this material. In my shop we use what's called tuff-pak.
