Question Window and quarter window divider

I need help with naming the metal piece that divides the quarter window from the larger window and has a weatherstrip put in it. I need to replace that metal piece on both sides as they have rusted out (you can tell by the pic that the weatherstripping is protruding out b/c of it). Is there anywhere online that has these parts for a good price? Does anyone know how to replace those parts? My Jeep is a '01 Cherokee Sport XJ. Thanks.

Looks like a salvage yard item to me.

I would think the door panel and glass have to come out to replace these.

Quadratec, among others, might have the weatherstrip.

You'll have to replace the small glass as well as those two are glued together. The weatherstrip (& channel for glass) is molded or attached onto the metal. It's all one piece. You just need that whole assembly from one in the junkyard. And by the way it looks, you have tinted glass so you'll have to find one with tinted glass as well. I saw no easy way to remove the glass or attach a different one.

The following is from memory and my memory is bad.

To change it, remove the door panel and roll the window down all the way.
Remove the torx screw on top, and 1 (maybe 2) bolts below holding the metal piece.
Pull it out carefully at an angle towards the inside of the door and towards the front of the car.
Replace with another and reverse instructions.

I went and found these for you.

Thank you everyone for clearing things up a bit. I'll have these ideas in mind for now until I can get to working on it. I was mainly worried that the glass would not be held in place well with the metal rusted out, but seeing as it is one piece I am more assured it won't fall out.

Well, glue does need something to hold onto.. Rusted out metal isn't the greatest surface for glue to adhere to. Just saying..

I was looking for the exact same thing as the OP, the local pick and pull advertised that they just got 2 cherokees (2001 models). I go over and of course no-one knows where they are, so I spot two earlier models and took a pair from those, the glass is separate, anyone know if I can make these work on my 2001? I dont mind re drilling as long as the curve on the dividers will match. I think i can also salvage my oem glass since my dividers are falling apart from rust. :-)

Default Bubbly weather strip

My weather strip in that spot show some bubbles under the surface. I'd like to see if I can grind that rust out. I don't expect to have to replace the piece of metal, probably juts the rubber strip itself. Does anyone have input on the A-Z process on that one?

Sure. My experience is with a pre-facelift so it may differ slightly but here it goes

Remove door card but keep a window control plugged in
Window down
Under the smaller glass there are 2 screws that hold a metal plate against the glass, remove the plate
Drop the glass down gently
Lift the rubber/felt that runs along the most rearward edge out of the channel
There is a screw on the top of the door that holds the top of the divider
There is a screw inside the door that holds the bottom of the divider
The top of the divider goes through the rubber felt seal which may need to be pulled down slightly
You may need to wiggle the divider and glass a bit but you should be able to lift the glass out from the gap
Now remove the divider

Hopefully I didn't miss a step

I guess they are different then. There's no way I'd be holding the divider with the glass attached like that, it'd be smashed on the floor.

Hey Ralph can you or someone else post the link to the video rather than attach the video into the post? My work computer blocks a lot of youtube videos if they are attached to a message, but I can click a link and it will work....

I really need to get busy replacing my glass divider seals, weather stripping, etc so I dont have to turn the radio up louder than it needs to be when im doing 60MPH so I can hear it over the wind noise...

Thanks!

As you asked so nicely: https://www.you tube.com/watch?v=xTSQnPaGOiM&ab_channel=FreshPepper

Edit: It really doesn't like to just post a link. You'll have to remove the space in YouTube and copy/paste the link.

I hope boxburn gave you what you need.
Cause I just copy and paste the link the same way I would an Amazon or Ebay one.
But here that is what happens instead of you just clicking on it and going where it is too.
I would not have a clue how to do it differently. LOL.
