Default Window motor and/or regulator

Get angry if you must, but I DO spend at least an hr everyday searching my (at least dozen) maladies on CF ...
99 Sport w/ no pssgr window action. I took the door apart and found no obvious wiring breaches; pssgr window switch has light so I assume there is power to switch. No motor sound though. So... Is there a way I can figure out whether I need the motor AND regulator or just motor? (Essentially $60 question). I found a nice write-up re checking the motor's worm pin but I fear it exceeds my skill set. If that defaults me to getting the combined motor/reg replacemt, so be it. Just didn't want to miss another option.
Thanks for the patience and any insight, you guys rock.

Will the window work from the driver's switch?

At the passenger window motor there is a two pin connector. The Brown wire is power UP, and the Violet wire is power DOWN.

Using a voltmeter you could check power at each wire pin cavity (using the opposite pin cavity as ground for the meter) while activating the passenger door switch and the driver door switch. If you have power at each wire pin cavity the window regulator motor is defective.

Edit: If you need a window regulator/motor, I recommend a MOPAR part.

Go here:

Edit 2: The key must be in the RUN or ACC position to operate the windows. So don't be afraid of being electrocuted when probing the connector (as long as the key is OFF. . But you knew that didn't you.

Window won't work from driver side either, and b/c the child lock safety switch otherwise works as it should, I disregarded those write-ups. Thanks for the info ccken-the wiring color ID will really help (checking it after day job)! To be clear, if voltmeter tells me there is no power, I then need to take a better look at the wiring? (I got zapped real good by something a couple weeks ago when I was checking fuses behind kickplate, so I've been pretty chicken about playing with electrical since - for window, I disconnected neg cable before poking around)
Admittedly, I was tempted to go Dorman b/c I can get it stat, but I'll take your recommendation and go Mopar (and try not to murder people from heat rage in meantime)

Do the electrical checks I mentioned above and if you don't get power to the motor you'll have to go upstream and check the passenger door window switch. I have a diagram and connector pinout diagram if and when you need it.

In the mean time, go here and read post #53.

See if you can get the safety pins mentioned for use in electrical troubleshooting.

I used this regulator on my 99 sport passenger side and it has worked perfectly. Motor isn't as fast but it its still $55+ cheaper than the mopar unit and does it's job fine.
