About to order a set of skids for my D30 and t-case from Warn. A friend of mine told me to just go to the junkyard and get a stock ZJ skid. Will those bolt on to an XJ? Anyone know how thick they are?

from what i was told yes a zj t-case skid and gas tank skid bolt up to a newer xj. not sure on the thickness. i got sick of looking 4 them and just went with skid row.

I suggest a ruff stuff diff cover. The 30 needs all the rigidity it can get.

I'll be going to the junkyard tomo. I need to pick up a pass side mirror and hopefully find a stock metal gas tank skid. I'm going to be there anyway so. Just don't want to have the big ole piece of metal laying around in my garage if I'm not going to use it.

Anyone else know?

anything will fit with the proper modification. id just make your own.

Why not look for stock XJ skids?

I put a ZJ gas tank skid on my xj, all u have to do is drill a few new holes to fit the xj, use the trailer hitch for a pattern. and trim the bottom of the heat shield about 3/4" on the passenger side. Cheap upgrade
