I am based in the UK and have a right hand drive, 2000 Cherokee 4.0. I have been checking out brake and wheel hub bearing parts at Rockauto, as they are a fraction of the price of those in the UK. I emailed the guys there a list, but they have come back and said they cannot provide the parts I need for my EU supplied car. Does anyone know if there are any differences in the specification of the US/EU supplied cars and would US spec parts fit?

Were the UK XJ's imported from the same factories the US ones were made in? If they were I'd be willing to bet parts like bearings, brakes and what not would be the same

 

Yes your cherokee was made in the us and imported elsewhere.

 

Most everything is the same, except maybe some of those things affected by putting the steering wheel on the wrong side.

 

Thanks! I was thinking that basic components would be the same, as I cant see a major manufacturer producing different tooling for each region. Presumably the suppliers only state this as they can't categorically guarantee they will fit. To be honest though, the cost saving is probably well worth the risk!
