will an impact prevent breaking bolts?

Engine: 4.0 I6 H.O.
I just got a 3lb sledge, knocked em out and dropped in bolts from the top. Yeah I cut my hand in a couple places squeezin it up there to get the bolts in, but it's super easy took me like 30 minutes. just make sure to get some good bar pin eliminators that are permanent mounts.
