Got one from the junkyard. Still no go and still pulling code 54. So had to get one ordered at the local auto parts store for tomorrow.

It was pretty easy to replace with that broken one from the junkyard, lol. Two six inch extensions. I tried using swivel, but was easier for me without. I will let you all know tomorrow with the new one.

You can try unplugging and replugging the CPS connector and a lot of times it'll start.
I put some dielectric grease in there too.
But definitely replace it b/c eventually that little trick wont work and you hate to be dead on the side of the road!
(the CPS can make her die while driving too is what I mean!)

yeah the one from the junkyard and my old one I tried doing that several times and no go. With my buddies sensor in there it starts right up, but the engine noise is there, would a correct one for my year change that?

Again, went out yesterday and it just sat there and cranked. Pulled the codes when I got home, guess what, code 54. What is causing this? This was a brand new CPS from the dealer "Mopar".

100$ its the CPS (Crank shaft position senor). I forgot to disconnect the plastic clip from the intake manifold when doing the header on my truck and yanked on it a bit on accident when i put it all back together with no spark. So $80 later I replaced the CPS and it was good to go
The CPS is 2 bolts and a wire connector. So easy to replace.
Also my friends jeep would stall on him a lot, it got worse and worse until the truck would just crank and no start.... it was the CPS. 85% of the time with stuff like this is always a sensor.
