Talking Will a 99 XJ classic grille assembly fit a 92 XJ

Does anyone know if a header panel & grille assembly from a '99 XJ Classic will fit on a '92 XJ? Do I need to do any mods? I can get the parts for pretty cheap & I'm curious if it will work before I start wrenching!

You will also need the fenders to complete the rounded look on the 92. The rounded header against the squared fenders will look odd. The hood will not need to change. The install mods would be very minor.

if I'm not mistaking the body lines are softer on the late model as well. they will not match the doors, I also believe they have different mounting points.
At any case, it's not a direct bolt on deal.

sure it's a direct bolt on. but yeah, newer fenders complete the look, but not necessary. doors and hood don't matter.

but, you will have to mod the wiring harness for the parking lights.

i believe the fenders are needed also to completely attach the header

I have the 97+ header/fenders on my 89. The header will bolt-in without fenders, but do not flow due to the rounded corners. As far as the lights go.. technically you need to swap/wire-in new connectors as the newer turn signals use 2 bulbs, and for the side markers the connectors do not fit in correctly, but you can trim the rubber connector to fit in more and they fit in snug without mod and the side marker lenses bolted in.
I have not wired in the extra connectors or modified the connector at all.
If you want I can post pics. Let me know.
