Will 30's fit better on a 7 or 8 inch wide wheel?

Will 30's fit better on a 7 or 8 inch wide wheel?

Picking up some BFG AT's tomorrow, 30/9.5/15.

Also looking at a deal for some jeep canyon wheels, and wondering if they will be too wide for the tire, or if I should use the 15x7 wheels. I hate the wheels i have now, so I'm really looking for something different.

anyone have any suggestions or pics? I couldnt find any of 30s on a 15x8 wheel in the lift setup thread.

i had 30's on 15x9 wheels when they still made them. ran fine, if you plan on upgrading to 31's or even 33's then i would def recommend the 8" wheel

The tire width is what makes the difference as far as rim width. If you have a tire that is 12.5 inches wide it can be mounted on a rim that is 8 - 10 inches wide it doesn't matter if the tire is 30 inches tall or 35 inches tall.
Your 30x9.5s will fit on a 7 or an eight inch wide rim, it will be hard to get it mounted on a eight inch wide rim if the side walls are not very flexible.
