wierd idle problem

Engine: 4.0 liter ho
wierd idle problem
My 91' 4 liter keeps idling up high then down real low. I have a throttle body spacer and air intake tube, new wires,plugs ,cap, rotor. Also when I go to take off in drive it falls on its face till i stomp it and sometimes will backfire back through the intake. Any help would be great!
