That's rust free from a Canadian perspective. Ive seen 3 year old cars with worse rust that that.

Im glad the PO let mine leak like a shot pig. Totally saved my undercarriage.

Yes, there is a lash adjustment on the steering box but if not set right you can kill it, probably when you need steering the most. The adjustment is also locktite sealed from factory so it does not leak. If you adjust the box without resealing it you will have a nice leak on your hands.

Don't dive in with a full turn and a half, your box may not be that far off. 1/8 turn at a time til it's right. Too tight and you will have problems.

I can show you pictures of my 98. 1 year older and rust like you wouldn't believe. You lucky bastards down in the dry south get all the luck. Even if it does snow your local "goverment" will not empty the local salt mines to cover the roads. That crap just loves to turn good steel back into big iron deposits.
Try living north of the Mason Dixie line. Check with some of your brothers that live in Michigan or Ohio.

Are you refering to the modest surface rust or the umm err custom lift job?

Well then start bringing your junk north of the Mason Dixie line and you'll make a killing.
I brought a 70 Olds cutlass 442 back from Fort Worth Texas that I bought for $2500. Owner thought I was nuts to cart it all the way back to Toronto. I sold it for over $10,000 Canadian. About $9500 US then.
You see it was "Rust Free" as we know rust. The quarter panels had no holes and neither did the drivers side floor. And every bolt undid without breaking. Just like the shock bolts did on my "Can't be from Florida" 99 just did.
I love this Jeep!!!!

I gotta agree with everyone else, they don't rust like that in florida. I live in ohio and I see alot of rust, I'd still consider the underside of that one pretty rusty... No offense, just telling you what I see.

@Truckntractorchick - Don't be afraid to adjust it, just make sure you do it in small increments. 1/8th of a turn, drive it and see what it feels like until you got it close to how you like it. It's easy to get to, just gotta pull the electric fan and there it is.
