So in another thread I have been tracking down a p0171 code, while doing that I noticed that this device will often tick loudly when I start the engine cold.

What is it? Should it be making a loud ticking noise? I assume it's something with the a/c. I had been thinking my engine was ticking in the morning, but in reality it's been this.

 

That is the evap purge solenoid, it ticks, they all tick, it's normal.
