Default Why does the fan come on with A/C?

I guess this may sound like a stupid question but... Why did Jeep set up the electric fan to turn on when the Air Conditioning comes on? Is it in anticipation of more load on the engine, and therefore more heat? I'm not that familiar with A/C systems but I'm converting to electric fans and I know I need to hook up a fan to the A/C switch, but I don't know why.

Extra load and extra heat, yes. But isn't there an extra radiator for the A/C system?

If so that fan also draws extra air that would be blocked by the extra radiator.

And yeah, I know radiator isn't the correct term when used with A/C system.

it is called a condenser and yes it looks like a radiator and sits in front of it. it is on the whole time the A/C is on to keep the car cool and to keep the freon flowing through the condenser as cold as possible, colder freon...colder A/C

Ah, I've heard of this condenser. So the fan comes on to carry air over the condenser, which is part of the A/C system? Therefore, if the A/C system is on, that fan has to be on. Gotcha. Thank you!
