I was discussing this in another thread and decided to post this one to see everyone's experience with these. Are they worth the $$, ride quality-wise? Do they improve the ride on a 4" rig? What are possible issues to be prepared for?

I'm considering RR's drops. I want to gather more information and opinions before doing so.

 

i have been wondering this also my uppers on my 6.5" lift are about and inch to long and i have rustys lowers for a 6.5, will this make my lowers go further out (for lack of better term lol)

 

It lowers both upper and lower control arms so i think both will be "lengthened" the same amount.

at 6.5, you should definitely consider these.

 

oh ic i thought it was just lowers you talkin about the rc ones?

 

If it were just the lowers, the arms would be out of whack and suspension wouldn't cycle correctly. I did alot of RC Jeep building and learned this the hard way.

I was considering rocky-road's brackets.

 

Yeah the drop brackets at Rocky Road drops both upper and lower to get them more at the angle they were at stock lift.. Which should in theory improve ride quality.. Anything above say 5" or so really should just get long arms anyways. I am curious as Mud is cause for us guys around that 4-4.5" range it could be a cost effective way to smooth out our ride..

 

isnt rc's just the lowers?

 

I have no idea but I can't imagine lowering the LCA's and not the UCA's that would put one heck of a bind on the CA's in general..

 

Mudd consider the "Y" link from TnT as well it will be the best of both worlds and the ride will improve and articulation will improve and your height can easily be in the 6.5 to 8 inch range. The geometry is just right at that height.

The only issue with long arms and y-links is the cost factor...They don't cost anywhere near $190...

 

I bought the Rocky Road drop brackets and I just got them in and im going to put them on thursday. They are beefy looking and heavy.

 

Sweet let us know how they work and how well the ride it after the fact..Also take some pics and post any insight that helps on the install process cause after I graduate I am going to do this..

 

I will be taking plenty of pictures. If anyone is looking to get a drop down bracket get the Rocky Road CAD Drop. It is very beefy.

 

I will like to see some pictures of those, before and after. Show us the angles of your arms now and what they look like after the install.

My gf is getting me this for my bday She asked me if i needed shoes instead and some other junk (that i really need) but i told her these are very important. It's a matter of life or death.
