Default who converted the oil filter

I can not beat this darn oil filter adapter oil leak. I have changed it twice and it still leaks. I am loosing my mind over this thing. I have a 2001 xj and I have seen some coversions but I dont know if there is enough rough for a oil filter. Anyone make this coversion work? I have twice removed the adapter and replaced the rings but it seems to still leaks.

Sorry for my ignorance but where are you adding the silicone. there is not much room on the lip. I thought about adding some RTV to the lip before putting it back on and I wish I would have now. I dont want to go throught the trouble of removing that thing again. I wonder if I could lossen it just enought to get the open and then push some silicone or rtv in and tighten it back down. Are you just coating the outside with silicone after putting it all back together?
