When i first start up my jeep when cold it makes this whinning noise from the front of the motor then when it starts to warm up it goes away the jeep runs fine and everything and if i stop for a bit and then restart when warm it wont make the noise any suggestions
Next time you cold start it, open the hood and stand infront of it and listen to it. Follow the sound. You could have any number of things causing this. Check pulleys, belt, alt, ps pump, stuff like that. I dont see how anthing in the motor could whine, but, you never know.

I have had similar problem.. checked everything pulleys,belt,etc.. it ended up just being condensation built up on the belt from over night and like you say once it starts to warm up it disappears until the next morning? Hows the weather?
