Over the last couple weeks iv noticed some sort of a whine when I drive. It's not coming from my engine I don't think because when flip it in nuetral it doesn't go away. It's relative to my speed because it gets louder when I go faster. I don't think is my drive shaft cuz I had that replaced last year. I'm thinkin it's either my tranny or transfer case but I don't know why there acting up. I need some help in this one.

I have the same whining when i drive.

I do 1 of 2 things:

1: Turn the radio up.
-or-
2: Turn the radio down and tell the old lady to STFU.

 

don't let your wife/girl friend ride with you any more

 

She only wishes she could ride in her replacement.....

 

 

might be your rear diff.

 

It's coming from up front more though but maybe that's just me

 

Check fluid levels in the axles, trans, and TC.

That is a start.
And besides, you should check em anyway, right?

Does it whine more when you turn the wheel? If so it could be your power-steering. My Bronco whines a lot because I have a leak somewhere. Check it out. If it's not that I don't have a clue.
