when making tight turns, something is whining up front. sounds like maybe i'm out of power steering fluid. only i'm not. i did notice, however, something is leaking. leaking bad enough that if i follow the trail down, every thing is soaked down to my pitman arm. could it be the steering gear box? or power steering pump?
i looked at prices for the steering box, why is there such a dramatic difference in prices? i found a few for ~$160 and others were in the $800-900 range. what the hell? any insight is appreciated.

It's your power steering pump. I'd get one from a JY, clean it up REALLY well, and try it. It should work, but if not, it'd probably be a good idea to just fork over the $$ for a new one.
