Smile Thanks for the help

Thanks for the advice everyone. I ended up taking her to the dealer to have the differential bearings replaced. Fixed the problem and cost me 800.00! Only issue now is that with the rear end quiet I can hear all kinds of squeeks and clunks for from everywhere else.

If you're running a D35 they tend to go through carrier/pinion bearings. I replaced my carrier/pinion/wheel bearings and all is quiet now. Mine failed at 115K.

Funny. If you plan on running down all those noises like I am, keep in mind that the clamps on the leaf springs wear out and will rattle like crazy. Jeep makes a replacement clamp (I made my own).

Is it more noticeable when you let off the gas???
I am having this same issue.. noise coming from what seems to be DS rear. What does increased noise when letting off gas indicate? Hoping it's just wheel bearing and not pinion bearing. Changed fluid today and visual inspection turned out ok, although slight amount of fine shavings at bottom of diff so maybe problem is here and not a wheel bearing. Thoughts?
